Breguet Classique Calendrier Day Date moon phase Guilloché dial in 18 k white gold ref 7337BB

Breguet Classique Calendrier Day Date moon phase Guilloché dial in 18 k white gold ref 7337BB

The story of Breguet begins in 1775, when Abraham-Louis Breguet founded his workshop on the Quai de l’Horloge in Paris. Widely regarded as the greatest watchmaker of all time, Breguet was not merely a manufacturer, but an inventor whose ideas laid the foundations of modern horology.

During the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Breguet introduced an astonishing number of breakthroughs. Among his most important inventions are the tourbillon—patented in 1801 to improve accuracy—the Breguet overcoil hairspring, pare-chute shock protection, and the instantly recognizable Breguet hands and numerals. Many of these innovations remain fundamental to watchmaking today.

Breguet quickly became the watchmaker of choice for royalty, scientists, and military leaders, with clients including Marie Antoinette, Napoleon Bonaparte, Tsar Alexander I, and Winston Churchill.

At hand, we have a truly typical Breguet creation: an 18k white gold calendar model housed in a 39mm coin-edge case, fitted with elegant straight lugs. The case back features a sapphire crystal, allowing a clear view of the movement, while discreet correctors on the case sides are used to adjust the complications.

The absolute star of this watch is the dial.

It features a silvered solid 18k white gold dial executed with multiple contrasting guilloché patterns. The main dial displays a very fine concentric criss-cross texture, while the time sub-dial is decorated with a unique cross-weave basket pattern. A small seconds sub-dial adds contrast with a linear sunburst finish.

Time is indicated on an off-centered dial with painted Roman numeral hour markers, complemented by a small off-center seconds sub-dial at the 5 o’clock position. Carefully executed cut-outs accommodate the calendar and moon-phase displays. And speaking of the moon phase—just look at the beautifully hand-engraved moon, finished to perfection!

Completing the look are the signature blued Breguet hands, delivering a flawless 10/10 in style. The watch is powered by the automatic Breguet Caliber 502.3 QSE1, featuring a guilloché-textured rotor. The rotor is partially recessed into the movement, contributing to the slim profile, and the watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.

This fine Breguet is fitted with a lovely Bulang & Sons strap, paired with an 18k white gold Breguet folding buckle.

The watch, with its automatic movement, has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.

We find that these kinds of Breguet watches are still a bit underappreciated—and something of a steal in today’s market. Get in touch.
