Ebel El Primero 1911 Chronograph White Dial Steel and Gold execution ref 1134901 with Box
Ebel, founded in 1911 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, by Eugène Blum and his wife, Alice Lévy, quickly became known for its exceptional craftsmanship. The name "EBEL" is an acronym derived from their initials: Eugène Blum Et Lévy. Ebel earned early recognition for producing both highly functional timepieces and beautifully crafted jewelry, firmly establishing itself as a watchmaker.
During the Quartz Crisis, Blum's grandson, Pierre-Alain, took the helm and embraced the rise of quartz technology. At the same time, he remained committed to his passion for mechanical watchmaking. This dual approach proved highly successful, allowing Ebel to thrive. In fact, during the 1970s, they even produced wristwatches for prestigious brands like Cartier, further solidifying their reputation.
The Ebel 1911 Chronograph was first introduced in 1986 as part of the 1911 collection, which celebrated the brand’s 75th anniversary. This specific example is a steel and gold execution, featuring a semi-integrated “wave” bracelet and a softly brushed 38mm case with signature mushroom pushers. The 18k gold bezel beautifully mirrors the twin gold rows running through the bracelet.
The white pie-pan-style dial is in excellent condition, with an inner tachymeter scale, black painted Roman numerals, gold-rimmed chronograph subdials, and a date window. No lume is applied to the elegant stick hands or the dial, keeping the look clean and refined.Further more this Chrono comes with its cardboard outer box a big Ebel signed leather watch pouch , booklets and an extra link. Powering the watch is the iconic Zenith Caliber 400, fully checked and regulated by our watchmaker.
If you grew up in the 1980s, this watch needs no introduction—it was the watch you’d see on wrists in restaurants, bars, and boardrooms. Even Sonny Crockett (played by Don Johnson in Miami Vice) sported a full-gold version in his Ferrari.
If you want to beam yourself back to the simpler times of the 1980s, this one could be your ticket. Get back to us!
