Heuer Carrera Re-edition Salmon Dial Box and Paper Set ref cs3112

Heuer Carrera Re-edition Salmon Dial Box and Paper Set ref cs3112

In 1962, Jack Heuer took over the company his great-grandfather had started in Saint-Imier nearly a century earlier.

By then, the Heuer name was already known in racing and aviation. Since 1911—when car racing was still new—the brand had been making dashboard clocks for cars, boats, and planes. A lifelong racing fan, Jack Heuer saw a chance to refresh the company’s chronographs.

With the Carrera, Jack created a watch that was truly his own. It’s still the chronograph most tied to the Heuer name today. His focus on clear reading led to a dial that was simpler than the Omega Speedmaster or the Rolex Daytona (released the same year). The result was a clean, balanced design with plain baton markers—easy to read, smart, and timeless.

Through the 1960s and 1970s, Heuer became a leader in chronographs, turning out many now-classic models. The brand later hit hard times during the Quartz Crisis and was bought by TAG (Techniques d’Avant Garde), then by LVMH, who carried it into the modern era.

In the mid-1990s, TAG Heuer realized its older designs still had strong appeal and reissued two icons: the square Monaco and the Carrera.

This watch is a faithful reissue of the first Heuer Carrera Ref. 2447N, with a 36mm screw-down case and a beautiful salmon dial featuring three recessed sub dials. The tritium lume on the hands and hour markers adds just the right touch of vintage charm. It’s paired with a Bulang & Sons racing strap, a great fit for the look.

Inside is the hand-wound Lemania 1873 movement, freshly serviced by our watchmaker.

It comes with the original boxes, two booklets, and the guarantee card showing it was sold in Germany in 2003.

Don’t miss this rare and well-kept reissue!
