Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69ST Tropical Dial

Known as the ‘Pre-Moon’ caseback by collectors, these watches have a shallow engraving on the caseback that preceded Omega’s claim about being the first watch on the moon. This 145.002-69 houses a correct stepped dial with painted logo and ‘Professional’ third line of text that has turned a cool brown colour. The bezel is a so-called ‘dot next to 90’ version that remains in good condition having faded to an almost blue hue.
The 42mm stainless steel case is strong all round and the lugs remain crisp. The hands are a nice match with the hour markers. We have fitted the watch with a Bulang and Sons ‘Speedmaster’ strap and the calibre 861 movement has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
