Omega Speedmaster Ed White ref 105.003-64

Omega Speedmaster Ed White ref 105.003-64

The Gemini 4 Speedy…

We are delighted to offer such a great example of this iconic Speedy. This reference is the last of the straight lug Speedmasters and has a special historical significance, as it was the reference worn by Ed White. In 1965, during the Gemini 4 mission, Ed White became the first American to conduct a spacewalk. White opened the hatch and used the hand-held manoeuvring oxygen-jet gun to push himself out of the capsule. The watch he was wearing was an Omega Speedmaster reference 105.003.
The case is in exceptionally good condition as is the rest of this stunning watch. The dial has the correct TSWISST markings, lack of Professional text and long hour markers and remains in good condition. The bezel is the original and very rare ‘dot over 90’ (DO90) that has faded to a cool grey. The reference 1035 bracelet is in very good condition with a clasp stamped ‘1 68’ and rare ref 6 endlinks, which is correct for this model. The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
