Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar 5140G with Extract of the Archives and Box in 18k White Gold
We are big fans of perpetual calendars, and few brands do it better—after all, Patek Philippe not only invented this complication but also helped create the market for it!
At hand, we have a lovely reference 5140G in 18k white gold, featuring a refined 37mm case size.
It succeeds the legendary reference 3940, a model widely regarded as one of the most significant creations in Patek Philippe’s modern era. Alongside the 3970, the 3940 is often celebrated as one of the first truly complicated watches to be produced in series. After an impressive two-decade run, its legacy was passed on in 2006 with the introduction of the reference 5140, which retained the same ultra-thin, self-winding caliber 240Q, powered by a micro-rotor.
The case features four correctors for the calendar functions and is in excellent condition, with the gold hallmarks clearly visible. This case comes with a beautiful snap-on display caseback, offering a view of the marvelous caliber 240Q automatic movement, which has been fully checked and regulated by our watchmaker.
The opaline dial features a dotted minute track and three sub-dials for the perpetual calendar, displaying the date, day, month, leap year, 24-hour time, and moon phase—all in English. The watch is paired with an original Patek Philippe leather strap and an 18k white gold PP folding buckle.
Furthermore, the watch comes complete with its original inner and outer boxes, the white gold corrector pin, and a
Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives stating the watch was sold in 2007.
For collectors aiming to enter the Patek 'Grand Complication' family, this piece offers incredible value. It’s beautifully elegant, remarkably wearable, and an enduring classic. Let’s connect!
