The term gilt dial comes from the gold-coloured text, which is actually the brass dial plate showing through the glossy finish that was printed in relief.
This gilt dial is stunning and totally flawless. Full gloss and crisp text – just how we love them! All the lume is in good condition too and is a good match with the hands including the original small GMT hand. The hour hand has aged slightly differently, but reacts the same under a UV light. The steel case is in great condition with strong lugs and crown guards. The watch has a beautiful bezel insert that has naturally faded – the blue is a summer breeze and red is a copper orange colour.
The rivet Oyster bracelet, reference 7206, is in great condition with a clasp stamped ‘2 66’ and ref 80 endlinks. The watch has recently been serviced by Rolex and will come with the remaining Rolex warranty.
