Rolex Air King Reference 14000 Colour Change Dial

All change from blue to beige…

Hans Wilsdorf launched the Air King as a series of “Air” watches in the 1940s, including the Air Lion and Air Tiger, to pay respect to the Battle of Britain pilots. The only “Air” series watch to survive the test of time was the Air King and modern-era watches still retain some cool vintage elements, such as the original AIR KING font on the upper half of the dial and PRECISION designation on the lower half. This watch houses a dial that would have originally been a soleil-fish blue colour. Over the years, however, the colour has changed to an olive/beige colour giving this piece a unique look that you will never again exactly see.!The reference 14000 is a very cool 34mm steel watch that houses the more modern 3000 calibre movement and has a sapphire crystal. The smooth bezel give these watch a cool look too – less ‘dressy’ than a traditional dress watch. The bracelet is a solid link Oyster bracelet reference 78350, with a clasp stamped ‘S 2’ and ref 557b endlinks. The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
