Rolex Datejust 1601 Busch Bavarian Beer Logo Dial
Beer and watches, a not soo common combination, right? But yes, we do like beer, so we decided to get this Beer-Just just for you.
The Busch Bavarian Beer company was founded by German immigrant Eberhard Anheuser in St. Louis, USA, in the 1850s.
As you might guess, Germans are very proud of their beer — and good ol’ Eberhard turned the company into the largest beer brewer in the U.S. Since 2008, it has been wholly owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV (AB InBev), the world’s largest brewing company, which also owns several major global brands, including Budweiser, Michelob, Stella Artois, and Beck’s — making it the biggest beer brewer worldwide.
This Beer-Just is a steel Ref. 1601, housed in a classic 36mm stainless steel case, with a lovely white gold bezel and a sunray-finished silver dial featuring beer-colored markers and hands. At six o’clock, you’ll find the Anheuser-Busch logo, with a capitalized “A” and a proud beer eagle.
Oh, and yes — there’s also some Rolex coronet and writing on the dial somewhere.
The Jubilee bracelet is the folded type — as folded as someone gets after two cases of beer — and is in lovely condition. It’s a Ref. 6251H, with a clasp stamped 4/66 and end links marked 55.
Fun fact: This Beer-Just was produced in 1971 — the same year Anheuser-Busch produced 25.3 million barrels of beer, a record-breaking figure at the time and the company’s best year to date!
The watch and its slow setting date system has been fully serviced by our (sober!) watchmaker and is good to go for your next bar meet-up or beer tasting event.
Beer is temporary. The Beer-Just is forever, get back to us or get a hang over.
