Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman was renowned for commissioning and collecting exclusive watches bearing the national emblem of Oman—the Khanjar dagger with crossed swords—which he often presented as gifts to distinguished individuals , the Sultan frequently commissioned timepieces directly from manufacturers to gift to friends, advisors, and visiting dignitaries.

 

Watches bearing this emblem are exceptionally rare, and we’ve written an article about them — you can read it here! While commissions were placed with several prestigious brands, including IWC and Patek Philippe, he is most famously associated with Rolex.

 

Presented here is a beautiful Rolex Datejust reference 16013, featuring a classic stainless steel and 18k yellow gold case paired with a silver-colored dial. The lower half of the dial is adorned with the striking red Khanjar dagger, crossed swords, and the Royal crown, lending the watch both historical significance and cool presence.

 

The case is in excellent condition, as is the gold fluted bezel. The watch is fitted with the a reference 62523H Jubilee bracelet, with end links stamped 455B and a clasp marked K11.

 

This rare Datejust is accompanied by a Rolex paper holder, a calendar card, and a Rolex service booklet, along with a Rolex service card dated 2021 and the corresponding service invoice—valuable additions for a watch of this rarity.
