The matte dial is most associated with black dial Rolex sports watches, but was also used in dress watches including this very cool Datejust with white matte dial. The dial has sigma symbols on the bottom edge, that indicate that the hour markers are made in solid gold. The dial is outstanding with crisp black text and interesting hour markers at six and nine. The lume plots have taken on a cream patina that is a decent match with the hands. The case and reeded bezel are in good strong condition. The folded link Oyster bracelet reference 7836, is in very good condition with reference 258 end links and a clasp stamped ‘1 72’. The watch has been fully checked and regulated by our watchmaker.
