Rolex Explorer 1016 Mk3 Matte Dial L series

Since its introduction in 1953, the Explorer has been a constant presence in the Rolex sports watch line up. Named in celebration of the intrepid adventurers that climbed Everest, it is a firm favourite with fans of Rolex tool watches and offers something a little different and less obvious than the dive watches.

This is a classic, fuss-free matte dial sports watch with iconic 3 6 9 hour markers in the sweet spot for Rolex Oyster cases, the 36mm. The case is really strong all round, with thick lugs. The Mk 3 matte dial features off-white painted lume on the 3-6-9 numerals and is in excellent condition. The hands are a nice match with the dial.

Fun fact : The L Serials are the very last 1016 and are rare and there for very collectable ! The watch is fitted with a solid-link Oyster bracelet reference 78360 in superb condition with reference 580 endlinks and a clasp stamped ‘M 9’. The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
