In the 1990s Rolex introduced the sapphire glass Explorer with applied 3-6-9 numerals, where before they had always been painted. This is the second series of sapphire Explorers, in a 36mm case (which Rolex reintroduced in 2021) with no-lug-holes case and the last version of the dials, which were marked ‘SWISS MADE’ at 6 o’clock & having the serial engraved in the rehaut .

The watch remains in outstanding condition with a strong case with thick and even lugs. The watch comes on a great condition Oyster bracelet reference 78690, with a clasp stamped ‘EO 11’ and solid endlinks. This awesome Explorer comes with its original guarantee card that states a Canadian sale in 2009 and has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
