Rolex Explorer Box and Papers Ref 114270

This example is of the last of the 36mm steel Explorers and we acquired it from the original owner here in the Netherlands who bought it new in the Cayman Islands 20 years ago!

Since the early 1950s, the Rolex Explorer has been a constant member of the sports watch family. In the 1990s Rolex introduced the sapphire glass Explorer with applied 3-6-9 numerals, where before they had always been painted.

The watch remains in outstanding condition with a strong case and lovely black glossy dial with Super Luminova lume, which were the last version of the dials marked ‘SWISS MADE’ at 6 o’clock.

The watch is fitted with the nice condition original Oyster bracelet reference 78690, with a clasp stamped ‘AB 11’ (2003) and solid endlinks. This lovely Explorer is accompanied by its original inner box, punched papers that confirm the watch was sold in the Cayman Islands in 2004, three booklets, wallet and a 2004 calendar card. The watch has been fully serviced and regulated by our watchmaker.
