The Explorer story began in the early 1950s, when early versions of the watches were worn on the Everest expeditions. This Explorer dates to 1967 and has a stunning gilt dial that has changed colour over the decades and is now a kaleidoscope of chocolate charm. The colours on the dial range from warm chocolate brown to light caramel tones and every imaginable shade in between. This a vey special and unique Rolex! The lume on the 3-6-9 numerals is still very clean and is a good match with the lume in the hands. The 36mm steel case is in very good condition with strong lugs and the Oyster rivet bracelet is in great condition. The bracelet is a reference 6636 fitted with 64 endlinks. The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker. A word of warning – be careful wearing this watch whilst driving…we don’t want you to get distracted, because you WILL NOT be able to keep your eyes off this beauty!
