Rolex GMT-Master 1675 Pointed Crown Guard Case Gilt Dial
We are always excited to present a gilt-dial Rolex GMT-Master in such outstanding, honest condition. The term “gilt dial” refers to the gold-toned text that appears on the surface—created by exposing the brass dial plate beneath a glossy black lacquer finish. The result is a depth and warmth that is instantly recognisable and impossible to replicate.
The dial on this example is truly exceptional: a deep, glossy black surface with a rich and even patina throughout. The lume has aged to a warm banana-yellow tone, the hands have been replaced by Rolex during a service in the 1970s.
The pointed crown guard case remains in excellent condition, retaining strong, well-defined lines all around. Its red-backed “Pepsi” bezel insert has faded beautifully over time—the red softening into a gentle orange hue and the blue taking on a washed denim tone, adding even more vintage charm.
The watch is fitted with a solid Jubilee bracelet, reference 62150H, with 555 end links and a clasp stamped D02.
Early gilt GMT-Masters in this kind of condition are becoming increasingly difficult to source. If you’ve been searching for a great example we are happy to talk !
