Rolex GMT-Master 16750 Matte Dial with Original Box
The Rolex sports watch timeline demonstrates the brand’s commitment to constant reinvention and subtle refinement.
In recent years, collectors have turned their attention to sports watches from the early 1980s—a time of transition. The main update from its predecessor, reference 1675, was the new movement featuring a Quickset date function, allowing the date to be set independently of the hour hand. Early serials of this reference have a matte dial, while later serials come with a glossy dial featuring white gold-surrounded indexes.
This 16750 is one of those early serial examples, in very good original condition, with a super thick case and a lovely black bezel insert. The matte dial and hands are flawless and match perfectly, having developed a pleasing yellow hue.
It is fitted with a Jubilee bracelet, reference 62150H, with end links marked 550 and a clasp stamped “E.” Furthermore, the watch comes with its original Rolex inner and outer boxes, as well as the holder for the warranty paper (please note: the warranty paper is not included).
This cool transitional GMT-Master has been fully serviced by our watchmaker and is ready for the years ahead.
Early 16750s with matte dials are getting harder to find—especially in this kind of condition. If you’re after a vintage GMT with modern functionality and classic looks, this is your chance.
Reach out to make it yours before it disappears into another collection.
