Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date in blue "Shantung "dail ref 1501/8

Among the vast array of vintage Rolex dials, there are a few that truly shine, and the Shantung or mosaic dial is certainly one of them! Named after a luxurious silk fabric known for its distinctive grooves, often called the "king of silks," the Shantung dial mirrors this fine texture with irregularly patterned grooves.

This example is housed in a reference 1501 OP Date in 18k yellow gold, with an engine-turned bezel. We actually think this bezel acts like a perfect frame for a beautiful painting.

The blue “Shantung” dial is in excellent condition, with unique hour markers and yellow tritium lume, topped off by white text. Fitted with an awesome condition Oyster riveted bracelet in 18 k gold with end links marked 57 and a clasp stamped 4 70 fitting wrists up to 19 cm .The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
