Rolex Oyster Precision Ref. 6424 36mm “Big Oyster” Circular-Finished Silver Dial

As we've mentioned before, sometimes the simplest version of a watch is the best. No need for extra features, embellishments, or unnecessary details—just the essentials. Exactly what the designer envisioned from the start. This is a perfect example of that kind of watch!

This is a rare Oyster Precision Reference 6424, nicknamed the “Big Oyster”—as most of the “Precision Line” models were in the more modest 34mm size, while this one comes in a larger 36mm version. The case is still thick in all the right places, with a lovely smooth bezel. Oddly enough, these references don’t have lug holes, which, at the time, was a feature only seen on Rolex's gold-cased watches.

The dial features a very unusual circular finish, with elegant boat-shaped applied indexes and lovely dauphine hands. We’ve paired it with a nice Bulang & Sons strap.

The hand-wound movement has been fully checked and regulated by our watchmaker, and it's good to go for many years to come.
