Rolex Submariner Date 1680 Libyan MilSub Mk1 Dial Ghost Insert

We are delighted to be offering one of only a few known examples of the Libyan MilSub 1680. Military Submariners are some of the most keenly sought-after watches and this is one of the rarest , as we only have seen less then a handful..

The case remains in really strong condition and importantly, the inside has the full serial number engraved in the correct/accepted fonts. This was done by Rolex in Geneva for special order watches such as MilSubs, Comex, Asprey and other important watches.

The watch also features an Arabic text inscription on the case back that translates to: “Military Surplus Store”. This watch is fitted with a matte Mk1 dial in great condition with eggshell patina on the hours and hands. The watch has a lovely ghost faded bezel insert that adds to the vintage and military charm of this amazing watch.
The solid link Oyster bracelet, reference 93150, is in very good condition with a clasp stamped ‘S AB 8’ and 580 endlinks. This very special 1680 is accompanied by a Rolex Abu Dhabi service receipt from 2016. The watch has been fully checked and regulated by our watchmaker.
