Tudor "Homeplate“ chronograph ref 7032/0

This is a fine example of Tudor’s very first chronograph, affectionately known among collectors as the “Homeplate,” thanks to the unique shape of the hour markers—which resemble home base on a baseball field. The 7xxx series chronographs are among the most collectible in Tudor’s history, having been produced for only about a year.

This watch features its original steel tachymeter bezel, still showcasing the circular brushed finish. It also retains the early screw-down pushers—an increasingly rare detail. These earliest versions are often called “millerighe,” a term coined by Italian collectors meaning “a thousand lines,” in reference to their deeply grooved surface. These pushers also appear on early hand-wound Daytonas and are so prized that they can change hands for over $10,000.

The dial is in excellent condition, with hour markers that have developed a warm “pumpkin” patina—absolutely lovely. It’s fitted with a Rolex folded Oyster bracelet, reference 7836, with 501B end links, also in great shape.

This cool, rugged 1970s Tudor chronograph has been fully serviced by our watchmaker and is good to go for the years to come.
